Terms of Service

1. Platform Role
Socialize provides an online platform that allows users to discover and participate in social events organized by independent venues or organizers.
Socialize acts solely as a technology platform facilitating event discovery and communication between users and organizers.
Socialize does not organize, host, supervise, or control events unless explicitly stated. All events are organized and operated by independent third parties.
2. Venue / Organizer Agreement
Organizers publishing events agree that they are solely responsible for:
- organizing the event
- venue safety
- crowd management
- obtaining permits and licenses
- insurance requirements
- compliance with local laws
Organizers must ensure that event listings contain accurate information including date and time, location, participation requirements, and safety considerations. Organizers accept full liability for any incidents occurring at their events.
3. Event Participation Disclaimer
By attending an event discovered through Socialize, participants acknowledge that Socialize only provides the platform for event discovery; events are organized by independent organizers; and Socialize does not supervise or manage events. Participation is voluntary and occurs at the participant's own risk.
Socialize shall not be responsible for:
- injuries
- accidents
- lost property
- criminal behavior of participants
- event cancellations
- schedule changes
Any disputes must be addressed directly with the event organizer or venue.
4. Nature of the Service
Socialize functions as a digital marketplace / listing platform. Socialize does not guarantee event safety, participant behavior, event quality, or accuracy of event listings. Participation in events occurs at the user's own risk.
5. Eligibility
Users must:
- be at least 18 years old
- provide accurate information
- comply with all applicable laws
Socialize may request identity verification if necessary.
6. Account Security
Users are responsible for:
- maintaining password confidentiality
- activities performed through their account
- promptly reporting unauthorized access
7. Platform Availability
The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". Socialize does not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free functionality, or compatibility with all devices. Socialize may modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time.
8. Acceptable Use Policy
Users and organizers may not use the platform to promote or engage in illegal activities, dangerous or unsafe events, harassment or discrimination, hate speech, fraudulent activities, or misleading event listings. Socialize may remove such content immediately.
9. Community Guidelines
Participants are expected to treat others with respect, follow venue rules, respect personal boundaries, and avoid harassment or discrimination. Unsafe or inappropriate behavior may result in removal from the platform.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Socialize shall not be liable for:
- indirect damages
- consequential damages
- loss of profits
- loss of data
- personal injuries occurring at events
Total liability of Socialize shall not exceed the amount paid by the user for the service, if any. If the service is free, liability is limited to the minimum allowed by law.
11. Indemnification
Users and organizers agree to indemnify and hold harmless Socialize from claims, damages, legal costs, and liabilities arising from events they organize, misuse of the platform, or violation of these terms.
12. User Generated Content License
By submitting content (event descriptions, photos, comments, reviews), users grant Socialize a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute the content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. Users confirm they have the rights to share this content.
13. Content Moderation Policy
Socialize reserves the right to review, remove, or restrict content that violates laws or platform policies, threatens safety, or is misleading or fraudulent. Moderation decisions are made at Socialize's discretion.
14. Account Suspension and Termination
Accounts may be suspended or terminated if terms are violated, fraudulent behavior occurs, safety risks are identified, or platform abuse occurs. Socialize may terminate accounts without prior notice if required for safety or legal reasons.
15. Safety & Reporting Policy
Users may report harassment, unsafe events, fraudulent listings, or inappropriate behavior. Reports may lead to investigation, event removal, or account suspension. Emergency situations should be reported to local authorities.
16. Dispute Resolution
Users agree to attempt to resolve disputes informally by contacting Socialize support. If resolution is not possible, disputes may be brought before competent Hungarian courts.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by Hungarian law and European Union law.
